Gary Bates relocated from Australia to head up the US office of Creation Ministries International (US) as its CEO in 2009. He is on the editorial team for Creation magazine, which now has subscribers in over 110 countries, and is also the producer of CMI’s award-winning documentary Evolution’s Achilles’ Heels. Gary has authored or coauthored eight books on the creation vs evolution debate, and is best known for his book Alien Intrusion: UFOS and the Evolution Connection¸ which is the only creation book ever to be an Amazon top-50 best seller. It deals with the troubling and growing UFO phenomenon from a biblical perspective. It has now been made into a major motion picture that has been shown in theaters worldwide. Gavin has a keen interest in geology and fossils, and has collected many specimens over the years. Working professionally in the seismic industry has led him to work in many exotic locations such as Uganda, Tanzania, Egypt, Kurdistan (north Iraq), the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Macedonia, France, the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, as well as the UK. Due to his deep interest in biblical creation, he has since earned two Masters degrees, one in Biblical Studies and the other in Egyptology. It was while living in Egypt for approximately a year that Gavin first became interested in the ancient history and archaeology of that country, particularly the connections between Ancient Egypt and the Old Testament. His specific focus on the Egyptians’ beliefs regarding creation and the Flood inspired his M.A. dissertation (for which he was awarded a distinction) and his desire is that this will form the basis for further Ph.D. study in Egyptology.

Robert Carter Ph.D. is an avid student of biblical history and how it relates to populations and genetics. Many Christian ministries have capitulated to secular thinking by saying there was no real Adam and Eve, that people (pre Noah’s Flood) could not have lived for hundreds of years, and that the civilizations we see in the world today could not have built up so quickly after the Flood. This has particular relevance to Egyptian history, where a large population and an advanced and sophisticated society built up within a few hundred years after the Tower of Babel event. And indeed, the Bible tells us that one of Noah’s grandsons, Mizraim, was the founder of the Egyptian people’s group. As a biologist, Robert has been at the forefront of computer modelling based upon modern genetics and the DNA databases of people groups available today. And his research has concluded that we can, in fact, trust the Bible’s history. He will be sharing some of his fascinating findings with us on this trip.
